Soft washing is a cleaning method that uses low pressure and specialized cleaning solutions to safely and effectively remove dirt, grime, mold, and other contaminants from exterior surfaces such as roofs, siding, and decks. Unlike pressure washing, which uses high-pressure water to blast away dirt and debris, soft washing is a gentler approach that does not cause damage to the surfaces being cleaned. The use of specialized cleaning solutions also allows for a deeper clean, as they can penetrate into small cracks and crevices to remove embedded stains and bacteria. Overall, soft washing is a safer and more effective cleaning method for many exterior surfaces compared to pressure washing.

Soft washing is generally considered safe for most types of home siding and roofing materials when performed by a trained professional. The low-pressure water and specialized cleaning solutions used in the soft washing process are designed to be gentle on these surfaces, minimizing the risk of damage. In fact, soft washing can help extend the lifespan of your home’s exterior surfaces by removing harmful contaminants such as mold, mildew, and algae that can cause damage over time.

However, it’s important to note that improper soft washing techniques or the use of incorrect cleaning solutions can potentially damage your home’s siding or roofing. This is why it’s crucial to hire a professional soft washing service that has the expertise and equipment necessary to perform the job safely and effectively. In general, soft washing can be a safe and effective way to clean and maintain your home’s exterior surfaces, but it’s important to work with a reputable and experienced provider to ensure the best results.

Softwash Hawaii uses 100% biodegradable and water-based cleansing solutions. Though our chemicals are eco-friendly we still take every precaution to protect your home, plants, or animals.

Yes, soft washing is an effective method for removing stains, dirt, and grime from many types of exterior surfaces on residential homes. The specialized cleaning solutions used in the soft washing process are designed to break down and remove these contaminants, leaving your home’s exterior looking clean and refreshed. Soft washing can be used on a variety of surfaces, including siding, roofs, decks, and more. However, it’s important to note that the effectiveness of soft washing will depend on the type and severity of the stains and contaminants present on your home’s exterior surfaces. For tougher stains or heavily soiled surfaces, a professional soft washing service may be needed to achieve the best results.

The frequency of soft washing for your home’s exterior surfaces will depend on several factors, including the type of surface, the climate in your area, and the level of exposure to environmental contaminants. In general, most homeowners should plan to have their home’s exterior surfaces soft washed at least once every one to two years.

However, if you live in an area with high humidity or frequent rainfall, you may need to have your home’s exterior surfaces cleaned more frequently. Additionally, if your home is located near a busy street or construction site, or if you have trees or other vegetation near your home, you may need more frequent soft washing to remove debris, pollen, and other contaminants.

It’s also important to consider the condition of your home’s exterior surfaces when determining the frequency of soft washing. If you notice signs of mold, mildew, or other types of growth on your siding or roofing, or if your deck or patio is particularly dirty or stained, it may be time to schedule a soft washing service.

Ultimately, the best approach is to consult with a professional soft washing service provider to determine the optimal cleaning schedule for your home’s exterior surfaces. A professional can assess the condition of your home’s exterior, factor in local climate conditions, and recommend a soft washing schedule that will keep your home looking its best while protecting its surfaces from damage.

While it is possible to perform soft washing on your own, it is generally not recommended. Soft washing requires specialized equipment and cleaning solutions, and improper use can cause damage to your home’s exterior surfaces, as well as pose safety risks to you and your family.

Professional soft washing service providers have the expertise and equipment necessary to safely and effectively clean your home’s exterior surfaces. They also have access to commercial-grade cleaning solutions that are more effective than consumer-grade products available to the general public. Additionally, professional soft washing services often come with warranties and guarantees that ensure the work is performed to a high standard.

When selecting a soft washing service provider, be sure to choose a reputable and experienced company. Look for reviews and testimonials from past customers, and ask for references and proof of insurance. A professional soft washing service provider should be able to provide a detailed estimate of the cost and scope of the work, as well as answer any questions you may have about the soft washing process.

In summary, while it is possible to perform soft washing on your own, it is generally safer and more effective to hire a professional soft washing service to ensure that the job is done right.

Inclusions and Exclusions are important components of a construction contract. Items that are excluded, can be included upon request.

When writing up a scope of work for your home or property, our estimations team will make the best recommendations based on the information provided by your Territory Manger (TM).

Sometimes this means excluding items such as hard water stain removal, red dirt stain removal, or other services.

If for any reason you feel that you’d like to replace these excluded items at the time of your soft washing service, a request can be made to your TM and the revision can be made.

If our estimate calls for replacement of an item such as roof, gutter, or fencing, it is usually because there were problems found with them and our recommendation would be for replacement.

Another scenario where an item may be included in your proposal, is if you request it. Our primary goal for your project is that it looks, feels and performs the way you want it to!

When a question comes up on the inclusions or exclusions on your proposal, the best person to ask would be your TM!

They are there to help clarify anything related to your project and to make sure you have a successful customer experience.

In light of the current economic landscape, characterized by fluctuations in supply chains and irregular availability of chemicals and materials, particularly in our island’s context, we have observed a marked increase in costs more frequently than in previous years. Chemical prices, for instance, are now subject to weekly adjustments from our suppliers, a notable shift from the biannual price changes seen in the past. This new pattern has led to price escalations occurring several times within a single quarter.

Given these circumstances, we have adapted our proposal validity period to better reflect these changes. As such, please note that all our proposals are valid for 30 days from the date of issue. This adjustment is essential to accommodate the ongoing volatility in material and chemical costs.

Should your proposal expire before you have had the opportunity to proceed, we want to assure you that our dedicated Territory Manager is readily available to assist you. They will work closely with you to provide an updated quote, ensuring that it aligns with the most current cost structures.

We understand that these changes may impact your planning and decision-making process. We appreciate your understanding and are committed to providing the highest level of service and support during these times.

Preparing for a soft washing project involves a few essential steps to ensure the process is smooth and efficient. Here’s a guide for homeowners to get their property ready:

  1. Relocate Small Items: Items around your home such as potted plants, outdoor decorations, and other movable objects should be relocated to a safe area. This prevents any accidental damage during the washing process.

  2. Secure Loose Items: Outdoor furniture, decorations, and any loose items around your property’s exterior should be secured. This step is crucial to avoid damage from water or cleaning solutions used during soft washing.

  3. Driveway Clearance: Keeping the driveway clear is important to prevent any chemical or water overspray from damaging vehicles.

  4. Pet Safety: If you have pets, ensure they are kept indoors, or inform the onsite Lead Technician if they need to be let out, so the yard space can be secured. It’s also advised to clean up after pets to allow safe and secure placement of protective gear.

  5. Arrival Times: The soft washing team typically arrives between 7-9 am, depending on traffic conditions. Due to the multi-phased nature of soft washing, the team may need to adjust arrival times on different days.

  6. Communication: Staying available via phone call or text, whether at home or not, is important for any necessary communication during the project.

  7. Presence for Walk-Throughs: Although you don’t need to be home throughout the entire project, being present on the first and last day for preliminary and final walk-throughs with the Lead Technician is advisable.

  8. Children and Elderly Safety: During the project, treat your home as an active construction site. It’s best to keep children and elderly indoors to avoid potential hazards.

For any specific queries or assistance related to your project, you are encouraged to contact your Territory Manager or reach out to the team at [email protected]. They are prepared to guide you through any additional questions you might have regarding the preparation process.

In the realm of construction, particularly during soft washing projects, safety remains a paramount concern for both the crew and homeowners.

The Crew’s Safety Measures: Upon arrival at the site, the crew’s primary focus is to establish a safe working environment. This includes setting up ladders securely, attaching anchor points for harnesses, and ensuring every crew member is equipped with the necessary Personal Protection Equipment (PPE). This meticulous preparation is crucial to prevent accidents and ensure a safe operation.

Homeowner and Family Safety: For homeowners, it’s imperative to keep family members and pets indoors throughout the construction process. This precaution is to safeguard against any inadvertent accidents or disturbances that might occur in an active construction site environment.

Protecting Your Property: Homeowners are advised to keep their driveway clear to facilitate easy access and prevent potential damage to vehicles. Additionally, it’s recommended to remove or secure items located beneath the eaves, such as outdoor furniture and potted plants. These measures help in avoiding damage from falling objects or from the soft washing process itself.

Clean-Up and Debris Management: During soft washing activities, there may be debris scattered around the home. The crew is committed to conducting a thorough clean-up at the end of each day, ensuring that the area around your home is left tidy and safe.

By adhering to these safety guidelines, homeowners can significantly contribute to a secure and successful soft washing project, ensuring the protection of their family, pets, and property.
