EXTERIOR FENCE & WALL SYSTEM
INSPECTION
GUIDE
•
PURPOSE
Exterior fences and walls are impor1ant components of a property's exterior
environment. They provide security, privacy. safety, and visual definition
while contributing to the overall appearance and value of the property.
In Hawaii's tropical climate, fences and walls are continually exposed to
W radiation, wind-driven rain, salt-laden air, humidity, biological growth,
and thermal movement. Routine inspections help identify developing
deficiencies before they require extensive repair or replacement.

0 Wear gloves when handling damaged fencing.
O Stay chtar of damaged masonry that could become dislodged.
A
STEWARDHIP PRINCIPLE: Never assume an aging fence
